The Massive Blood Transfusion Protocol (MTP) at St Andrew's provides clear instructions on how to initiate and manage a critical bleeding situation and subsequent massive transfusion. 

The MTP can be activated by CCU / Theatre Surgeons and/or Anaesthetists / Emergency consultant in charge of the patient or the transfusion laboratory in consultation with the Haematologist.
